NNL Super-4: Alex Leme Makes History With First Goal, As Sporting Lagos Beat Ranchers Bees 1-0 In Ikenne

Sporting Lagos FC’s top striker, Alex Leme made history on Monday, as he scored the first goal of this year’s Nigeria National League (NNL) Super-4 at Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne, Ogun State.

Sports247 was present at match venue and witnessed how Leme lived up to his billing as the reliable star who had been a perennial hero for Sporting Lagos during their surge among the NNL’s four promoted teams this season.

While the Lagos-based club’s captain, Solomon Uloko was issued the first yellow card in this year’s Super-4, Leme turned the tide around for his side when he struck in the 40th minute to put Sporting Lagos on the road to a 1-0 victory.

An assist from Shola Oladunjoye, with a swinging cross from the left flank, paved the way for the competition’s opening goal by Leme, who also hit headlines when he netted against Osun United on the last day of the NNL’s regular season.

That goal confirmed his club’s promotion ticket to next season in the Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL), while also proving Leme’s mettle further, having earlier struck equally crucial sizzlers against Calabar Rovers and First Bank FC of Lagos.

Coach Buter Jeffrey and his lads will now hope to consolidate their opening surge with a second victory in this year’s NNL Super-4 when they play against Doma United of Gombe on Tuesday at the same venue.
