The charred remains of a bodybuilding influencer with a large following on TikTok have been discovered burned to death on a remote roadside. Freddy Rodríguez, 34, widely known to his fans as Rosado, had disappeared several days before his body was found in southern Honduras last Sunday, April 26. Due to the condition of the body, authorities were unable to confirm his identity until Friday, May 1.
The fitness influencer was found in an isolated area along the road linking El Tablón and Las Ánimas in the central American country. Forensic teams established that the body was in an advanced state of decomposition and had been severely carbonised prior to discovery.
The Honduran Public Ministry said Rodríguez had most likely been murdered at a separate location before being transported to the secluded spot to be set alight.
Officers noted that the surrounding vegetation also showed signs of fire damage, as reported by NeedToKnow.
The 34-year-old’s facial features had been rendered unrecognisable by the intense heat, and his identity was only confirmed after secondary verification and an emotional identification by bereaved family members.
Rodríguez, who had amassed a considerable following on TikTok over six years, regularly shared bodybuilding content, motivational fitness videos and self-improvement messages.
His posts encouraged followers to take an optimistic view of their fitness journeys, with captions including “your body can withstand anything, it’s your mind that you must convince”, “never give up”, and “a good physique awakens envy”.
Supporters flooded his social media accounts with tributes following the news of his death, describing him as a magnetic figure with a “great heart” who motivated countless people in the El Paraíso community.
Police units are continuing to carry out examinations of the motorway area and gathering physical evidence that could assist in identifying those responsible.
No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.
