Next Real Madrid coach

Romano touched on the managerial situation at Real Madrid, outlining that Jose Mourinho and Jurgen Klopp are both candidates for the role.

He explained on his YouTube channel: “It is going to be a very special and busy summer at Real Madrid. We know there are several situations, players leaving, players arriving, players returning, and also the manager.

“For Jurgen Klopp, either he puts himself back in the market as a manager, or Real Madrid will not disturb his agreement with the Red Bull group. So it depends on Klopp.

“On the other side, Jose Mourinho is ready to go to Real Madrid, but that depends on Florentino Perez’s decision. So that is the situation.”

Endrick earns new responsibilities

Brazil international striker Endrick might have blown hot and cold on loan at Lyon, but Real Madrid are ready to welcome him back and give him a sizeable role next season.

Romano explained: “I wanted to mention Endrick. My understanding is that Real Madrid are ready to bring Endrick back to the club in the summer and trust him for next season.

“The message from Real Madrid to Endrick and to those close to him is that they want to trust him. They want to give him an important place in the squad for next season and have him as part of the rotation up front, where Real Madrid obviously have several top players.

“Endrick knows that. But he always had the dream of succeeding at Real Madrid. He is doing very well on loan at Olympique Lyon, but still wants to succeed at Madrid. Real Madrid are ready to give him another big opportunity.

“Of course, this could have consequences for another striker, Gonzalo Garcia. There are more than 10 clubs already reaching out to Real Madrid and the player’s camp, offering opportunities to play and to be an important striker on a regular basis. Some clubs want to buy him, some want a loan.

“So it is also up to Real Madrid to decide how they want to manage the Gonzalo Garcia situation. But Gonzalo could leave in the summer, and Endrick could come back and be part of the rotation. That is going to be a crucial moment for the Brazilian striker’s future.”

Andoni Iraola: Man Utd’s next permanent manager?

Manchester United are yet to name their next permanent manager, with doubts still surrounding Michael Carrick’s position in the post, despite an outstanding spell as interim boss.

Andoni Iraola is linked with the job, with the Basque having revealed that he will leave Bournemouth in the summer. Romano says that he wants to take a role in England but Carrick is looking increasingly strong at Old Trafford.

The transfer news expert explained: “My understanding is that Iraola is constantly linked with English clubs because he would love to continue in the Premier League. He would love the chance to coach a top club in England, so that is why he is linked to United and Chelsea.

“At the moment, with Chelsea, there is still nothing advanced or decided. I know there have been reports for several days, but my understanding is that nothing is decided there.

“On Manchester United, they are obviously internally going through the process to assess all the potential candidates for the permanent job. But Michael Carrick has serious, strong, concrete chances to continue and become the permanent manager.

“Champions League football would help, and United are very close to returning to the Champions League, also thanks to Carrick. I would say especially thanks to Carrick, because since he arrived in January he completely changed the feeling around the season, around the players, the leaders, the fans, the board and the management.

“So the feeling is super positive on Carrick. There is still an internal process at United before they call and say this is the decision, but Carrick remains the clear favourite to continue and be the permanent manager.

“Then we wait for the end-of-season review and for Manchester United to communicate their decision to the manager and to the players. But for sure, Michael Carrick is in a strong position.”

Casemiro ready to sign for Inter Miami?

Manchester United midfielder Casemiro is definitely leaving Old Trafford at the end of the season, with a move to Inter Miami potentially on the cards.

While United may wish for the Brazilian to stay, Romano has said this will not be the case.

“I am told that his decision is not changing,” he said. “Casemiro is leaving Manchester United at the end of the season. At least as of today, that is the situation.

“Despite some calls from Saudi Arabia, MLS remains a strong and real possibility. I told you several times that Inter Miami are in the conversation, and that remains the case. Inter Miami have been working on a deal for Casemiro since March, and I maintain that.”

Leon Goretzka’s next club

Another top midfielder to go on the free agency market this season is Bayern Munich’s Leon Goretzka. The Germany star is not short of offers from Italy and Spain.

Romano explained: “Goretzka is going to leave Bayern at the end of the season. Obviously he is fully focused on the pitch now and wants to win as many titles as possible, dreaming of the Champions League too. But then he will choose his next club.

“The ideal decision would be made before the World Cup, because Goretzka would love to decide his next club before the 2026 World Cup with Germany. But it depends on the opportunities. It is not guaranteed to happen before the World Cup.

“There are some important financial offers on the table from clubs without a huge tradition, and my understanding is that Goretzka’s priority would be more for clubs that can compete and that have tradition, rather than just money. Of course money matters, but it is not the only thing.

“Italian clubs are calling, not only Italian clubs. Atletico wanted him in January too. So there will be plenty of movement around Goretzka. He is leaving Bayern on a free transfer, so this is a big opportunity in midfield and definitely one to watch.”
