Doma United Ready To Pull Off Outstanding Performance At NNL Super-4 In Ikenne

The management of Doma United of Gombe has come out with a daring declaration that the team is ready to pull off an outstanding performance in this year’s Super-4 competition of Nigerian National League (NNL).

Sports247 reports that, with The Savannah Tigers set to compete against Sporting Lagos, Inter Lagos and Ranchers Bees of Kaduna, many observers believe it will be an uphill task for the squad owned by Alhaji Suleiman Umar (aka Mai Doma).

However, a press release from the club based in the neighbourhood of Doma in Gombe disclosed that the team that was founded in 1994 and previously gained promotion to the NPFL in 2022 will prove all doubters wrong.

While recalling that they finished 5th on the log of the abridged Group B during their first campaign in the top flight, the club’s media unit asserted that they will continue to improve on the strides they achieved during the NNL’s recent regular season.

The statement added, “Doma United have made tremendous improvement in their return to the Nigerian top-flight for the first time since the 2023/2024 season. On their way to achieving this milestone, Doma scored 18 goals, conceded 10 and kept 7 clean sheets.

“Matthew Okpahe scored 6 of Doma’s 18 goals this season, making him their top scorer. With 8 wins, 4 draws and 2 defeats, the Gombe-based club qualified to play in the Nigeria National League Super-4 slated for May 4th to May 8th, 2026.”

The team’s coach, Najib Mabo attributed their promotion to confidence reposed in him by the proprietor, Alhaji Suleiman Umar, as the team that was relegated to the NNL in 2024 booked their ticket from Conference C with a match to spare.

Although they lost 3-1 to KADA Warriors in their last match of the regular season, Doma United finished top of the table with 26 points, and Mabo said it was made possible through the owner, who provided everything needed to secure the ticket.

Mabo expatiated, “I want to use this opportunity to extend my sincere appreciation to the president of Doma United, Alhaji Suleiman Umar (Mai Doma) who reposed so much confidence in me. He assured me that he was not going to interfere in my job.

“As the gentleman that he is, he kept to his promise. In fact, when he found out that I was able to handle Mighty Jets, he gave me the free hand without imposing a single player on me. He provided all necessary equipment I demanded for.”
