The biggest fight in British boxing history is finally set, as Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua prepare to meet in a long-awaited heavyweight showdown later this year.
Fury recently returned to the ring with a convincing unanimous decision victory over Arslanbek Makhmudov at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium earlier this month, sharpening his form ahead of the clash.Â
Joshua, meanwhile, will get the chance to build momentum of his own when he faces Albanian heavyweight Kristian Prenga in Riyadh on July 25.
With contracts now signed – confirmed by promoter Eddie Hearn and Zuffa Boxing’s Turki Alalshikh – fans can finally look forward to a bout that has been years in the making. The fight is widely expected to determine the standout British heavyweight of this generation.
Early betting markets reflect Fury’s strong position, with Sky Bet listing the “Gypsy King” as the 4/7 favourite. Joshua enters as the 7/5 underdog, while a draw sits at a distant 16/1.
Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua confirmed: Sky Bet odds revealed for historic British clash
Beyond the standard winner odds, Sky Bet is also offering some intriguing options in the Price Boost and Method of Victory markets.
Firstly, the boost – enhanced from 3/1 to 7/2 – requires Fury to win between rounds 7 and 12.Â
It’s a selection that aligns with some of the biggest moments of Fury’s career. Notably, he stopped Deontay Wilder in the seventh round of their rematch, before delivering a dramatic 11th-round knockout in their trilogy fight.
Those performances highlight Fury’s ability to take control in the later stages – raising the question of whether he could produce another late stoppage against Joshua. As always in heavyweight boxing, though, nothing is guaranteed.
Meanwhile, the full Method of Victory market is outlined below.
