Chelsea’s forgotten winger Mykhailo Mudryk’s current situation has received a major update
Mykhailo Mudryk is appealing a four-year doping ban with his case now sent to the Court of Arbitration for Sport after he filed an appeal to the FA. The Chelsea winger was initially suspended in December 2024 after failing a drugs test.
football.london understands he has filed an appeal and the CAS has now been sent the case. Reports suggest that “written submissions” have been exchanged and a hearing is yet to be scheduled.
football.london also understands that Chelsea will let the process take it’s full course. The Ukrainian winger last played for the Blues in November 2024 in the UEFA Conference League but saw his time on the pitch halted due to an “adverse finding in a routine urine test.”

At the time, an FA spokesperson said: “We can confirm that Mykhailo Mudryk has been charged with Anti-Doping Rule Violations alleging the presence and/or use of a prohibited substance, in terms of Regulations 3 and 4 of The FA’s Anti-Doping Regulations.
“As this is an ongoing case, we are not in a position to comment further at this time.”
After being charged by the FA in June 2025, Mudryk has waited for an outcome of the case and his appeal.
He could face a ban of up to four years for violating anti-doping rules.
In a statement released in 2024, Mudryk admitted the failed drug test was a “complete shock” and that he had “not done anything wrong.”
Chelsea launched their own internal investigation and has not allowed the 25-year-old to train with the team since the initial suspension.
Mudryk joined Chelsea from Shakhtar Donetsk in 2023 for a fee worth up to £89million. Across 73 appearances, the winger has scored 10 goals and assisted 11 times.
Since the suspension, the 25-year-old has kept a relatively low profile and has been training away from his current team to keep up fitness.
The FA and CAS have been reached out to for comment on this matter.
