The President of Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau has revealed a strategy through which Video Assistant Referee (VAR) equipment will be shared among match arbiters in West Africa.
Sports247 reports that Gusau declared that the boost from Nigeria’s football governing body will come in the form of special training and mobilization of a vehicle that will transport VAR equipment and personnel across the region.

Gusau, who is also the president of the sub-regional West African Football Union (WAFU) zone-B, stated further that a truck will be acquired to transport VAR equipment to member nations from their headquarters in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire.
The NFF’s boss added during the opening ceremony of a three-day CAF Women’s Football Administrators workshop in Abuja: “One major challenge confronting our referees is the lack of adequate VAR training.
“We will acquire a truck to facilitate transportation of equipment to member countries of WAFU-B, to train their referees in VAR operations. This will benefit male and female referees, thereby elevating the standard of officiating in our region.”
Sports247 reports further that Gusau also challenged the heads of women’s football in WAFU-B’s seven countries to work harder in developing the round leather game from the grassroots, to ensure proper graduation from youth to senior level.
