Tottenham Hotspur’s Nigerian-born striker, Dominic Solanke has been cast in doubt for a place in England’s squad to this year’s FIFA World Cup following an injury he copped last weekend in the English Premier League.
Sports247 gathered that Solanke, who has been riddled with injury woes since his arrival in Tottenham at the start of this season, bowed out to another spell on the sidelines during his side’s victory away to Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The former Liverpool, Chelsea and Bournemouth hitman, who was born in England to Nigerian parents, is also in doubt for any further part of the season with Spurs, but officials at the London-based outfit are not ruling him out altogether.
A report by UK’s Daily Mail newspaper added, “Solanke hobbled off after 40 minutes during Tottenham’s win against Wolves on Saturday, which helped them keep pace with relegation rivals West Ham who earned a last-gasp victory over Everton.
“The England international started the game after an injury-hit campaign that has seen him make just 20 appearances in all competitions. He returned from a lengthy ankle issue in January but is now set for another spell on the sidelines.
“Spurs and Roberto De Zerbi are unlikely to rule him out for the season officially, given he could theoretically make a recovery in time, but it is most likely the Italian will be without Solanke for the remainder of the campaign.
“The forward has also been in the running to be Harry Kane’s understudy at the World Cup this summer for England, having been competing with Dominic Calvert-Lewin in the latest camp.”
