Cucurella ‘pushing’ for Barcelona move

Chelsea left-back Marc Cucurella is “pushing” to join Barcelona in the summer, according to reports from Mundo Deportivo.

The Blues already face a fight to retain Enzo Fernandez, who has been openly flirting with a move to Real Madrid, but now the Spain international is reportedly concerned about the direction of the BlueCo project.

While there has been support for this idea in Barcelona, there is some positive news for the Blues as the Catalan side are prioritising keeping Joao Cancelo and Alejandro Balde at the club.

Is Maza bait for Alonso?

Ibrahim Maza is being earmarked as a summer transfer target in a deal that could prompt Xabi Alonso to become Chelsea’s next manager.

The Spaniard has previously sung the praises of the Bayer Leverkusen star, who has emerged as a potential signing at Stamford Bridge. Alonso, who is out of work after being sacked by Real Madrid, previously heralded the talent of Maza, claiming that he was a “very good signing”.

With the Blues yet to decide upon their next manager, snapping up a young talent who is clearly appreciated by Alonso could help them attract the former Liverpool midfielder to their dugout.

Mudryk banned

Winger Mykhailo Mudryk is one of Chelsea’s forgotten stars, having been provisionally suspended for failing a drug test in 2024. After 18 months out of the picture, a major update on his case has landed.

The FA has ruled that the Ukraine international is to be banned from football for four years, the maximum punishment for a doping offence. Consequently, Mudryk has filed an appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).

Ben Jacobs reports: “Mykhailo Mudryk’s doping case has gone to CAS. Appeal filed by Mudryk against the FA on 25 February, 2026. Parties exchanging written submissions. A hearing is yet to be scheduled.”

Mudryk, who is not allowed to train with his Chelsea team-mates during his ban, has previously denied claims that he knowingly took a banned substance. If the FA’s decision is upheld, he faces a further two-and-a-half years without professional football in addition to the 18 months he has already missed.

Jackson wanted by Serie A giants

Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson, who has spent the season on loan at Bayern Munich, is wanted by Serie A giants Juventus and AC Milan, Florian Plettenberg reports on X.

Bayern have already confirmed that they will not take up their buy option in the striker’s contract, and he will be sent back to Stamford Bridge in the summer.

The Blues are unlikely to retain the striker, and according to the information from Germany, another loan move, this time to Italy, is on the cards.

New Gordon competition

Chelsea have been told that Anthony Gordon is open to leaving Newcastle in the summer, according to The Athletic.

Arsenal and Bayern Munich are also interested in the England winger, but Liverpool’s interest in the player has cooled and they will not revisit a transfer deal.
