New York Giants icon Lawrence Taylor is in the hospital as he deals with a bout of pancreatitis, as first reported by TMZ.
Taylor, a Pro Football Hall of Famer and two-time Super Bowl champion, has been in the hospital since last week.
However, the outlet reports that his health is moving in the right direction.
‘Lawrence is getting better every day and is looking forward to getting back on his feet,’ the star’s agent, Mark Lepselter, told the outlet.
Taylor’s attorney, Mark Eiglarsh, provided a statement to the New York Post, saying, ‘At this time, the condition does not appear to be life-threatening.
‘He remains under medical observation and is showing signs of improvement. His discharge date has not yet been determined.’Â

TMZ previously reported that Taylor had suffered a medical emergency and was being transported to a New Jersey area hospital.
Sources told the outlet at the time that they didn’t think ‘whatever he’s dealing with is too serious’ and believed that he’d be released from the hospital soon.
Taylor, who played his whole career with the Giants, has had a number of health issues since retirement.
He has also been open about his issues with drug and alcohol addiction.
In addition to the two Super Bowls he won in his career, Taylor was a three-time Defensive Player of the Year, the Defensive Rookie of the Year and was named to ten Pro Bowls and a combined ten All-Pro teams.
