Sports247 reports that Olukoya was awed with how Oba Femi got a shock decision over American maverick wrestler, Brock Lesnar in just five minutes of their epic bout at WrestleMania 42 this past Sunday in Las Vegas, USA.
While stressing that Oba Femi has taken over from where another Nigerian grappler in WWE, Onos, began last year, Olukoya urged the Federal Government to pay special attention to the development of professional wrestling in the country.
He hailed the rising profiles of Oba Femi and Onos, stressing that they both show an indication that Nigeria’s professional wrestlers will shake the world once they get enough encouragement from government, individuals and companies.
Olukoya affirmed that, with adequate support, Nigerian wrestlers would have better inspiration to compete against opponents from other parts of the world, because the country has good grapplers who can withstand any opposition.
“The victory of Oba Femi is an indication that the country is blessed with raw talents and we at Pro- Wrestling Africa are confident that with adequate encouragement, support and exposure, our wrestlers will make the country proud.
“All we’re asking is for governments at all levels to invest in professional wrestling in order to create employments for our youths, keep them away from crime and enable them bring glory to their fatherland,” Olukoya advocated.
