Chelsea’s recent turmoil is continuing away from the club after one of their future stars was involved in a clash with fans over his impending move to Stamford Bridge.
The Blues have endured a nightmare few weeks and Tuesday’s 3-0 defeat to Brighton made it five straight losses for Liam Rosenior’s side without scoring a goal – the club’s worst run in 114 years.
Big changes are expected in the summer, with Rosenior’s future also potentially on the line, and Chelsea are already preparing for wholesale sales and new faces to come into the squad.
One of those is Emmanuel Emegha, who Chelsea announced last year that they would be signing this summer from affiliate club Strasbourg, much to the fury of the French club’s supporters.
Emegha is Strasbourg’s captain and he was accused by a fan of ‘disrespecting’ the club by posting a picture of him wearing the Chelsea shirt on social media, prompting the striker to defend himself.
In a video posted by another fan, Emegha is seen responding: “It’s my future club. Do you know when I signed for Chelsea? One year ago. When I score, I do my job. How many goals have I scored?”

It is not the first time Emegha has come under fire from Strasbourg fans over his move, having also been criticised when his transfer was announced in September, with many suggesting the player should resign as captain.

Emegha has been Strasbourg’s top scorer in his previous two seasons with the club but the 23-year-old has been limited to just eight Ligue 1 appearances this year due to injury, although he has netted four goals.
Rosenior, who managed Emegha at Strasbourg, spoke at the time of the move of his ‘disappointment’ at the reaction by the French club’s fans.
“Emanuel Emegha deserves to play for a big club,” Rosenior said in September. “If it hadn’t been Chelsea, it would have been another big club. He’s a very good young striker.
“We’re disappointed with their reaction. It’s not all the fans. It’s a minority. They don’t respect my players as they should. “
