Liverpool are a club in transition and will lose several big-name players this summer.
Despite investing heavily in the team off the back of winning the Premier League in 2025, Liverpool have endured a disastrous season. Naturally, they will have to dip into the market again.
However, to do so, they will have to raise funds via sales to avoid breaching financial regulations. Meanwhile, club legends Mohamed Salah and Andy Robertson have already announced that they will depart for nothing and free up significant wages.
Below, FootballTransfers looks at five more Liverpool players who could leave this summer…
Alisson
Iconic goalkeeper Alisson is another club legend who could be on the move this summer, although he still has a contract until 2027. The Brazilian is fielding interest from Juventus and is said to be open to the move.
He has been one of the best goalkeepers in world football over the past decade, but repeated injury problems – especially hamstring issues – have taken their toll on the veteran.
As a result, Liverpool could be inclined to use this opportunity to cash in on the 33-year-old, even if he may not yield a sizeable transfer fee.
Joe Gomez
Joe Gomez has been looking to leave Liverpool for two seasons. He missed Arne Slot’s very first game in charge in 2024 because the club permitted him to seek a transfer away.
However, nothing materialised at the time, and Gomez again failed to secure a move in 2025, despite interest from numerous clubs, including AC Milan. This summer will likely be a different story, as he only has a year remaining on his contract.
Gomez has been with the Reds for more than a decade after joining the club from Charlton Athletic as a teenager. It is believed that he is interested in returning to London after 11 years as a utility player on Merseyside.
Curtis Jones
Hometown hero Curtis Jones is also likely to depart Liverpool in search of regular game time this summer. Aged 25, the midfielder is at the peak of his powers and needs to become a regular starter somewhere.
Like Alisson and Gomez, Jones only has a year remaining on his contract, so Liverpool will have to cash in on him unless they get him to agree to a new contract. However, despite his passion for the club, Jones is thought to be keen to leave for the good of his career.
In January, Inter showed a strong interest, and he was keen to join the Serie A giants, but the deal collapsed because Liverpool were only willing to entertain a permanent transfer rather than a loan.
Alexis Mac Allister
After starring for Liverpool in his first two seasons, Alexis Mac Allister’s level has dropped significantly, and it has coincided with strong transfer speculation.
With a contract until 2028, it has been suggested that Liverpool should have started extension talks by now, but Mac Allister has openly confirmed that there have been no discussions whatsoever.
Real Madrid are said to be keeping tabs on the 2022 World Cup winner, while he has also been linked with a sensational move to Man Utd. The latter, though, is surely unlikely.
Federico Chiesa
It hasn’t been for a lack of trying, but Federico Chiesa’s Liverpool career just has not taken off. He arrived lacking fitness and barely played in his first season at Anfield.
He has featured more in his second, but still nowhere near the level he expected when he arrived on Merseyside. Unsurprisingly, he has been heavily linked with a transfer away for the best part of a year.
Juventus surprisingly explored re-signing the Italy international in January, but no agreement with Liverpool was reached. This summer, Chiesa is likely to call time on his unsuccessful spell at Liverpool.
