PSG are one of the best teams in Europe, but they have not yet assembled the perfect squad.
The 2025 Champions League winners have developed into one of the most dangerous teams in world football under Luis Enrique. Thanks to a new transfer policy that focuses on building a coherent team instead of just signing superstars, PSG have gone from strength to strength.
Still, the 2025/26 season has shown that PSG are perhaps no longer the all-conquering side they were in 2024/25. RC Lens have given them a good run for their money in Ligue 1, while Enrique’s men also crashed out of the Coupe de France to city rivals Paris FC in the round of 32.
Consequently, the Parisians will dip into the market to bolster their side with some talented arrivals. Below, FootballTransfers runs through five players who could join PSG this summer…
Julian Alvarez (Atletico Madrid)
A long-standing target for the French giants, PSG have reportedly reignited their interest in Atletico Madrid striker Julian Alvarez, whom they previously attempted to sign when he left Man City.
The Argentine later confirmed that he had been in talks with PSG, but he ultimately opted to move to the Spanish capital. After two years, he could be on the move again, as he has been heavily linked with an exit.
Arsenal, Barcelona and Chelsea have all been linked with him, while PSG are now back in the mix as well due to the fact that Goncalo Ramos is expected to depart the club. Interestingly, Atleti have been eyeing the Portugal international, so there may be some swap deal potential here.
Eduardo Conceicao (Palmeiras)
Another forward on PSG’s radar, albeit one who is not yet well-known to European audiences, is Palmeiras youngster Eduardo Conceicao. The 16-year-old is primarily a winger but can also play centrally.
Conceicao is being chased by various European top clubs, including the Parisians. He has a €100 million release clause, and Palmeiras have reportedly already turned down bids worth €25m.
PSG advisor Luis Campos, who previously recruited Lucas Beraldo and Gabriel Moscardo directly from Brazil, is said to have made contact with the entourage of Conceicao.
Morgan Rogers (Aston Villa)
Aston Villa superstar Morgan Rogers is one of the Premier League’s hottest commodities and, as such, is being chased by most of the division’s elite clubs. However, PSG are also keen on the Englishman.
The Ligue 1 giants have joined the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and Man Utd in the race to sign the attacking midfielder, who is being valued at north of €100m by Villa.
However, Rogers is understood to be open to a move to a bigger club – despite signing a new long-term deal in late 2025 – and Villa’s not-for-sale stance would be tested by a large enough offer.
Karim Coulibaly (PSG)
PSG are also among the clubs monitoring young Werder Bremen defender Karim Coulibaly, who has been one of the breakout players of this Bundesliga season.
A regular starter at 18, the centre-back is being chased by various European giants, with Chelsea, in particular, said to be pushing hard to secure the teenager’s signature.
However, if it were up to Coulibaly, he would be playing his football in Paris next season. He is a boyhood PSG and is fluent in French, despite being born and growing up in Germany.
Bart Verbruggen (Brighton)
When PSG pushed Gianluigi Donnarumma out of the club because he allegedly demanded too much money and replaced him with Lucas Chevalier, it looked like a no-brainer. The Frenchman was one of the most highly-rated young goalkeepers in European football.
Fast forward to 2026, and it has proved a disastrous decision. Chevalier struggled to deal with the pressure of playing for PSG and eventually lost his place to No.2 Matvey Safonov, who was desperate to leave the club because he was not playing.
While Safonov has been alright, he is not quite a starting-calibre goalkeeper for a team like PSG, so the French giants could look to bring in another new shot-stopper this summer. Brighton star Bart Verbruggen, who wants to take the next step in his career, is one potential candidate.
