Arsenal have qualified for the Champions League semi-finals where they will face Atletico Madrid after successfully seeing off Sporting CP in the last-eight (1-0 aggregate)
Arsenal have booked their place in the Champions League semi-finals after battling past Portuguese outfit Sporting CP.
The Gunners will now face Atletico Madrid, whom they already thumped 4-0 during the group phase, for a place in next month’s showpiece final in Budapest.
Not only have Arsenal already secured Champions League qualification for next season by cementing a top-five finish in the Premier League but they are also in line to bank another £13.04million in UEFA prize money for reaching the last four.
This brings the Gunners’ overall Champions League prize money total to a whopping £109.21m this term and further cash is still up for grabs between now and the end of the season.

They netted £85.3m in the group stages with help from the initial TV money distributed and the rankings pool (worth a combined £49.6m).
Arsenal also won all eight of their group phase matches (worth £15.8m) and topped the final 36-team standings (worth £8.6m) with a 100 per cent record, which was worth a combined £24.4m.
The Gunners then took home a bonus worth in the region of £11.3m for securing automatic qualification to the last 16 after finishing inside the top-eight.
Additionally, Mikel Arteta’s men battled past Bayer Leverkusen (3-1 aggregate) to reach the quarter-finals, earning an extra £10.8m, before netting their latest £13.04m bonus for reaching the semi-finals.
If they beat Atletico Madrid and reach the final, they will bank a further £16.08m and the eventual competition winners will also receive a bonus of £5.65m for lifting the trophy at the Puskas Arena on May 30.
Arsenal’s lucrative Champions League prize money earnings will bolster their summer transfer budget and also help them from an accounting perspective when they record their finances amid the tightening of PSR and UEFA squad cost rules.
