Cleveland Browns pass rusher Jared Verse is not happy with his teammates after he was on the receiving end of an unnecessary act by a Pittsburgh Steelers rival.
The Browns’ road trip to Pittsburgh did not go to plan when they fell 27-6 in the Steel City.
But one play drew anger from Verse after he was flipped upside down on a field goal attempt.
Verse rushed to block a kick when Steelers lineman Mason McCormick went low to pick up the oncoming defender.
McCormick then lifted up the Browns star and flipped him on his head as he threw Verse to the ground.
Days after the incident occurred, Verse shared his frustration at his teammates’ inaction with reporters at a media availability.
Cleveland Browns star Jared Verse wasn’t happy after being slammed to the ground

Verse was picked up on a field goal block attempt, was flipped and thrown to the ground

The defensive star said he was angry that his teammates didn’t come to his defense
‘I’ll be quite honest with you, that was the play that made me kind of get really angry,’ Verse admitted. ‘I was generally upset about the game and the way things were moving, but at that point, it became like really deep.
‘Like, you’re doing dirty s***, you’re gonna try to sweep my legs. That honestly could have put me in a position to not be able to finish the season, put me in a position to change my life in a very bad aspect. So that, you know, upset me.’
‘The lack of reaction by those around me had upset me a lot. Not in the aspect of anything, anybody, you know, we’re focused on the game and everything like that. But, you know, the similar play had happened to Derek Barnett on, I think, the next field goal.
‘And I spazzed, I lost it. Because those are my brothers, those are my teammates. And, you know, when you do something like that to them, it upsets me very deeply.
‘So I could tell that from that point on, I was like, we have to be better. Like, we have to get better on every aspect of the game of being mentally aware of these are my teammates, these are my brothers, and we’re not fighting for each other.’
When asked if he confronted his teammates about the issue, Verse revealed: ‘That’s a conversation that we’ve had. We’ve spoken about it. I’ve made my concerns known.’
Despite the slam’s severity, Verse remained in the game for the rest of the defeat. He’ll look to rebound with the rest of the 5-3 Browns when they face the New Orleans Saints this Sunday.
