LeBron James may have shipped his life out to Philadelphia when he left in free agency to join the 76ers. But the rest of his family hasn’t followed him.
James signed with the Sixers in the summer after previously spending the last eight seasons with the Los Angeles Lakers.
The basketball star kept his house in California that he has owned for years, with some members of his family making the decision to stay behind – including his wife, Savannah, and daughter Zhuri.
In an appearance on the ‘Baby, This is Keke Palmer’ podcast, Savannah explained why Zhuri decided to stay on the West Coast.
‘[Zhuri] was trying to figure it out. Like, “So, am I not going to see him? How is this going to work?” the wife of the NBA icon said.
‘But we also [told] her, “So, you can go to school, we can go to New York, we can go to Philly.” And she’s actually like, “Yeah, no.”‘
When LeBron James flipped to Philadelphia, the rest of his family didn’t follow with him

His wife, Savannah, and daughter, Zhuri, stayed in LA so she could stay in school

Zhuri will make plenty of trips to see her dad on the East Coast while she stays out West
Ultimately, the 12-year-old daughter of the NBA scoring leader didn’t want to leave her friends and teammates on her volleyball team.
‘[Zhuri said,] “I don’t want to be away from school for that long. I still want to play with my teammates,”‘ Savannah said.
‘So, she really was just kind of like, “Okay, we’ll still visit. I’ll have my time, but I still get to go and do what I want to do with my friends and my teammates.”‘
Considering there’s plenty of chances for Zhuri to visit her dad, it makes some sense to want to stay close to her friends where she has made a home.
The James family will be able to see their father play in Los Angeles on Christmas Day when the Lakers host the Sixers.
