Florian Wirtz has been overtaken as Liverpool’s most valuable player while Rio Ngumoha is named England’s most valuable teenager in FootballTransfers’ latest update of Estimated Transfer Values (ETV).
Wirtz’s value plummets as Isak takes over
Wirtz’s struggles since joining Liverpool from Bayer Leverkusen in the summer of 2025 have been well documented, but the German’s ETV had help up well until November’s update.
The 23-year-old has seen an astonishing €37.2m wiped off his valuation after a slow start to the season. Although Wirtz’s form has picked up lately, notably via assists against Brentford and Brighton in the Premier League, as well as a goal against Villarreal in the Champions League, there remain long-term doubts over his form.
Since arriving at the club, the playmaker has been Liverpool’s undisputed most valuable player, yet for the first time this big drop changes that.
Alexander Isak has overtaken him in this regard while Dominik Szoboszlai and Bradley Barcola are the other Reds stars who have ETVs that are over €100m.
Ironically, this drop comes just at a time when Wirtz seems to be getting his form together under Andoni Iraola, so it may be that he bounces back in the near future, yet this is nevertheless a reminder of the fragile position that he has at the club.
| 1 | Alexander Isak | €106m |
| 2 | Dominik Szoboszlai | €105m |
| 3 | Bradley Barcola | €100m |
| 4 | Jérémy Jacquet | €86.4m |
| 5 | Florian Wirtz | €79.3m |
| 6 | Cody Gakpo | €74.9m |
| 7 | Ryan Gravenberch | €74.4m |
| 8 | Rio Ngumoha | €73.2m |
| 9 | Hugo Ekitiké | €70.9m |
| 10 | Alexis Mac Allister | €66.1m |
Jacquet establishing himself as the heir to Van Dijk
One young player who is having no trouble winning over the Liverpool support is Jeremy Jacquet, whose €63m move from Rennes is already starting to look like a bargain.
Only three Premier League players had bigger rises than Jacquet in the last update, with an astonishing €44.4m rise to €86.4m.
The Frenchman’s ETV has already surpassed the fee that Liverpool paid for him and reflects how comfortable he looks in the middle of the Anfield defence.
With Virgil van Dijk’s contract winding down and the Dutchman likely to leave at the end of the season on a free transfer, Iraola would already appear to have his next defensive leader in place.
Remarkably, Jacquet is already the second-most valuable defender in the Premier League, trailing behind only Arsenal’s William Saliba.
Ngumoha’s astonishing rise continues
Another young Liverpool star who has seen his value take a healthy leap is winger Rio Ngumoha, whose ETV has climbed €34m to hit €73.2m.
The Reds knew they were signing an astonishing talent when they pinched the punchy wideman from Chelsea, and the 19-year-old has since shown immense promise in the first team. He’s been able to translate the excitement he causes into output – two goals and three assists in 42 games – but there’s a real sense that will ultimately come.
Ngumoha is now the highest-valued English teenager in the Premier League and, indeed, the world.
Trey Nyoni has climbed to seventh in this regard on €26.4m, and if he continues to get first-team minutes, he will soon be challenging Ngumoha for his title.
| 1 | Rio Ngumoha | Liverpool | €73.2m |
| 2 | Max Dowman | Arsenal | €63.5m |
| 3 | Josh King | Fulham | €54.3m |
| 4 | Ethan Chidiebere Nwaneri | Dortmund | €45.5m |
| 5 | Harrison Armstrong | Everton | €39.5m |
| 6 | Mateus Mané | Wolves | €27.7m |
| 7 | Trey Nyoni | Liverpool | €26.4m |
| 8 | Mikey Moore | Koln | €22.1m |
| 9 | Shea Lacey | Man Utd | €21.0m |
| 10 | Jeremy Monga | Swansea | €20.9m |
Araujo looking better value with each passing game
Evidence of Ronald Araujo rebuilding his career is evident from the positive progress that his valuation has made over the course of the last month.
The on-loan Barcelona star has quickly won over Liverpool fans with his outstanding performances at right-back, and his ETV has risen to €26.8m – a modest jump of over €2m.
Liverpool’s purchase option for the player is €55m, and while he is unlikely to hit that figure before the Reds need to make their decision, he is looking better value for money each week after previously finding game time difficult under Hansi Flick at Camp Nou.
