Former Spurs star Davinson Sanchez is embroiled in mass brawl during Galatasaray's Champions League clash vs Stuttgart – as an ex-Brighton striker is booked for his part in fracas

Davinson Sanchez found himself in the middle of an on-pitch brawl on Tuesday as he and his Galatasaray team-mates confronted their Stuttgart counterparts.

The incident came in the 37th minute of their 2-0 Champions League win over Stuttgart.

Looking to start a counter-attack from a Stuttgart corner, Galatasaray broke with Baris Yilmaz before his attempted pass was blocked out for a throw-in on the halfway line by Chris Fuhrich.

After shielding the ball out, Yilmaz reacted angrily to Fuhrich’s pressure by dropping him to the ground in front of both dugouts.

That spat was then heightened when former Brighton striker Deniz Undav confronted Yilmaz in support of his Stuttgart team-mate Fuhrich.

That escalation saw the likes of former Tottenham defender Sanchez run over to get involved as players from both teams did likewise.

Eventually once matters calmed down, Premier League referee Chris Kavanagh booked Yilmaz and Undav – with the likes of Fuhrich and Sanchez avoiding any sanctions.

And come full-time it was Yilmaz and Sanchez smiling as the hosts took the three points.

Aleksey Batrakov scored both goals in the opening 15 minutes of the match, with the second created after a lovely through-ball from Sanchez.

Gala have now won two and lost two of their opening four league phase matches, while this was Stuttgart’s first defeat in the competition having won two of their previous games and drawing the other.

After this month’s international break, Galatasaray then host Aston Villa on November 24, while Stuttgart travel to Inter Milan a day later.
