“To Pick Three Points Is Our Major Plan ” — Washington Egor Reacts After Ikorodu City’s Draw Against Doma United

Ikorodu City FC assistant coach Washington Egor has reflected on his side’s draw against Doma United in their Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Matchday 11 encounter at the Pantami Stadium.

Egor was in charge of the Lagos-based side as stand-in coach for Bright Ozebagbe, who was away on international duty.

Speaking after the behind-closed-doors encounter, the assistant coach thanked God and praised his players for their commitment and effort, particularly after making the long journey from Lagos, Sports247 gathered.

“Firstly, I thank God and the players for putting in this great effort despite the long journey from Lagos,” Egor said.

He admitted that Ikorodu City had travelled to Gombe with the ambition of securing all three points but acknowledged that earning a point away from home was still a positive outcome.

“To pick three points is our major plan, but a point is also good for the team away,” he stated.

Egor also addressed the unusual atmosphere of playing behind closed doors, noting that the situation affected both teams.

The coach explained that his players were accustomed to having supporters in the stands but had to adapt to the circumstances and concentrate on the match.

“Playing indoors affected both teams, but we are used to the fans. We just have to play,” he added.

Despite missing out on their primary target of an away victory, Ikorodu City will take encouragement from the point as they continue their NPFL campaign.
