Former Wimbledon finalist Eugenie Bouchard celebrated Halloween early as she shared her Britney Spears costume with her followers on social media on Thursday evening.
The talented broadcaster has been burnishing her post-retirement career with a pivot to punditry, with Bouchard taking up roles for the BBC at this year’s Wimbledon, and ESPN at the US Open.
But with the end of the 2026 Grand Slam season, Bouchard has had more time for life away from tennis and took to the town this week ahead of this weekend’s spooky festivities.
Rather than scaring her followers however, the former world No5 looked to pop culture for her outfit choosing, plumping to replicate Britney Spears’ iconic 2001 VMAs look.
The pop superstar performed I’m A Slave For You draped in a live albino python and alongside a tiger at New York’s Metropolitan Opera House 25 years ago this September – although Bouchard opted to jettison the big cat and plump for a plastic snake.
‘It’s Britney, b****,’ Bouchard mouthed at the camera before showing off her outfit reveal.

Bouchard’s outfit was inspired by Spears’ memorable turn at the 2001 VMAS, where she draped an albino python named Bananas around her like a scarf
At the time, Spears’ performance received hefty admonishments from animal rights group Peta for incorporating the snake – named Bananas – and the tiger on-stage.
The hitmaker later admitted that she had a phobia of snakes and disavowed the idea of the performance as ‘so dumb’, but her staging and unusual choice of scarf made for an indelible pop culture moment.
Beyond posing for a photoshoot in her apartment, Bouchard also headed out for drinks with her friend, who sported a pirate outfit.
As well as broadcasting, Bouchard has also committed to pickleball, competing on the PPA professional tour.
Having taken time off for her media commitments, the 32-year-old returned to competition this autumn but returned to court seemingly with no less competitive spirit.
During a recent match between Bouchard and pickleball world No166 Maria Ford, the players were involved in a tense row over the amount of noise Ford was allegedly making during points.
Playing in the PPA Tour’s Veolia Chicago Cup, Ford is thought to have been loudly vocal after each point won against her opponent, including Bouchard’s unforced errors.
Bouchard appeared visibly annoyed by her rival’s conduct, going as far as to refuse to shake hands or touch paddles after the end of the match.

Earlier this year, Bouchard admitted too that she did still miss playing tennis itself, despite accepting that she lacks the motivation to continue striving on the WTA tour.
‘I miss playing, for sure, the feeling of playing,’ Bouchard shared on Tennis Insider Club. ‘Then when I’m doing TV for the matches, I watch them playing, and I’m like, “I could be out there. I wish I could be out there”.
‘But at the same time, I know everything it takes to be out there, and then I’m like, “Never mind”.
‘It’s just so hard that I don’t have it in me to give everything anymore. I want to prioritize other things in my life, and I know I couldn’t do that and still be out there competing. But the feeling of playing and competing, I feel like I’ll always miss that.’
