A live TV interview after a high school football game in Pittsburgh was abandoned on Thursday night after gunshots rang out outside the stadium.
A Westinghouse Academy player was speaking to 22 The Point following their 35-0 win over University Prep at George K. Cupples Stadium.
But during the interview, gunshots could be heard in the distance and the group of players quickly turned to look in the direction they came from.
Chaos then broke out on the field and players sprinted towards the locker room to take shelter at the stadium located on Pittsburgh’s South Side.
It later emerged that two males and one female, who are all believed to be teenagers, were left hospitalized with gunshot wounds. They are thought to be in stable condition.
Police, who are still hunting the shooter, were trying to break up a fight outside the stadium when the gun was fired just before 10pm.

‘As the game ended, there was a large crowd out here on Carson Street. A couple of fights broke out,’ Pittsburgh police chief Jason Lando said.
‘We had multiple officers from the city and Port Authority that were on the scene, helping to just facilitate people safely getting out, breaking up a couple fights, when suddenly, an individual pulled out a firearm and fired multiple rounds.’
Following the shooting, Pittsburgh Public Schools Superintendent Wayne Walters made changes to the attendance policy for Friday night’s football games.
Fans had to be over 18, more police officers and security personnel were at the game, fans were told to remain in the stands and not the corridors and loitering was banned outside.
‘Our thoughts are with the young people who were injured, their families, and all of the students, staff and community members impacted by this deeply troubling incident,’ Pittsburgh Public Schools said in a release Friday morning.
