The coach of Senegal’s beach soccer national team, Med Jean Sylla has showed plaudits on Nigeria’s captain, Victor Tale, who he hailed for his continued resilience in the game and adding his experience to the Super Sand Eagles’ quest for glory.
Sports247 reports that Sylla spoke with nostalgia ahead of Saturday’s international friendly against Nigeria at Murtala Mohammed Square in Kaduna, which he described as a good preparation point for both countries ahead of the continental championship.
While also pointing out that he played actively alongside Tale and Nigeria’s coach, Abdullahi Isa, the Senegalese tactician added that both teams will learn new ideas ahead of next month’s Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations (BSAFCON 2026) in his country.
Sylla reasoned further that playing two friendlies against Nigeria – first on Saturday and then Monday – will provide valuable preparation for his team, since they are hosts of the forthcoming continental championship and are not engaged in the qualifiers.
Sylla retorted warmly, “We are happy to be in Nigeria and feel like we are at home. This is not our first time in the country. These matches are important to both teams and Africa due to the history and pedigree.
“It is also an important preparation for the team. I am so happy to see the head coach, Abdullahi Isa. We played together alongside your captain, Victor Tale. I am happy that he is still playing like our captain, Al Seyni Ndiaye.”
Sports247 reports further that Senegal, who are in Kaduna with a delegation of 12 players and six officials, are the defending champions and preparing to host this year’s Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations (BSAFCON 2026) from November 7th to 15th.
Their squad for the two friendlies comprises Alseyni Ndiaye, Ousseynou Faye, Jean-Paul Ninou Diatta, Seydina Mame Gadiaga, Pape Sidy Fall, Sanou Laye Thiaw, Assane Ba, Mamadou Sylla, Seydina Laye Diagne, Libasse Mbaye, Pape Mamour Diagne and Babacar Niang.
