Harry Kane 'becomes highest-paid footballer in Europe' as England captain signs new Bayern Munich contract to stay in Germany for another three years

Ballon d’Or winner Harry Kane has extended his contract at Bayern Munich until 2029.

The new deal is expected to make the 33-year-old Europe’s highest-paid player, reflecting his value after he was crowned the world’s best player last week in London.

The England captain has scored 156 goals in 161 outings since joining Bayern from Tottenham Hotspur in 2023 for £85million.

Kane said: ‘I feel right at home at FC Bayern. I love the club, the fans and the city of Munich. We have a fantastic team and, in Vincent Kompany, a fantastic manager. It makes me very proud to be part of this club.

‘My whole family is very happy here. I was keen to stay. I’m now looking forward to the future and I want to win many more titles with this great club.’

Kane was entering the final six months of his deal at Bayern but any hope of returning to the Premier League to break Alan Shearer’s goalscoring record has been dashed, as he commits another three years to the German champions.
