Baltimore Ravens fans fume as team signs uninspiring quarterback after Lamar Jackson's devastating injury

The Baltimore Ravens’ season is on the brink after injuries to starting quarterback Lamar Jackson and backup Tyler Huntley. Now, the team has been scrambling to sign an extra signal caller.

On Tuesday, NFL insider Tom Pelissero revealed the Ravens signed Kedon Slovis from the Green Bay Packers practice squad to their 53-man roster.

Slovis, who has bounced around the NFL and only thrown two NFL passes, is likely on the roster simply to be an extra option if needed.

But the Ravens are now staring at a lost campaign after losing Jackson for the rest of the season with a thumb injury he sustained on Baltimore’s first offensive play against the Buffalo Bills.

Making matters worse, Huntley then injured his toe against Buffalo and is listed as questionable for the team’s short turnaround on Thursday Night Football when they play the Jacksonville Jaguars.

For that game, the Ravens will likely turn to third-string quarterback Joe Fagnano, a 25-year-old rookie out of UConn who is also dealing with an injury. In addition to Fagnano and Slovis, former UFL quarterback Austin Reed will likely be called up from the practice squad.

Baltimore fans took to social media to rage at their misfortune and a lack of a better name on the roster.

‘The tank is underway! #RavensFlock,’ posted one user on X. Another wrote: ‘Lamar def out for the year. Full tank mode is on.’

‘Oh yeah they are waving the white flag this Thursday. It’s gonna be BTA [belt to a**],’ read one grim prediction for this week’s game.

One response read: ‘So, the Ravens either truly believe in Joe Fagnano to carry this team, or they are throwing in the towel and going to be selling off players to build for the future.’

‘Ik I say this a lot but genuinely WHO IS THIS,’ read one reaction to the Slovis signing.

One bewildered fan said, ‘You mean the guy that had Amon-Ra St. Brown, Drake London & Michael Pittman in college and still sucked??’

Slovis bounced around in college from USC to Pittsburgh to BYU before going undrafted in 2024. He spent time on the practice squads of the Indianapolis Colts and the Houston Texans in his first two years in the NFL.

Last season, he served as a depth option with the Arizona Cardinals and played in two games, including against the Jaguars. But in that Jacksonville game, Slovis threw exactly two passes and made one unfortunate completion for -2 passing yards.
