Shooting Stars Sports Club centre-back Adelowo Gbolagade has reached a major career milestone after making his 100th appearance in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), earning recognition from the club’s management and teammates.
Sports247 reports that the defender achieved the landmark during Shooting Stars’ 3-1 victory over Ranchers Bees at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasingba, on Friday, October 19.
The occasion was marked before the 4-1 victory over Abia Warriors during NPFL Matchday 11 fixtures at the Lekan Salami Stadium by celebrations within the club, as management and fellow players acknowledged Gbolagade’s contribution, consistency and commitment to the Oluyole Warriors.
His century of league appearances reflects the importance he has established within the team, particularly through his defensive reliability and sustained presence across multiple campaigns.
One of the standout moments in his career came during the 2023/2024 season, when Gbolagade featured in all 38 league matches, demonstrating remarkable availability and consistency throughout the campaign.
The centre-back also played every minute of the league season three seasons ago, further underlining his durability and importance to the team’s defensive structure. His performances earned him the club’s Player of the Season award, recognition of his influence and contribution to Shooting Stars.
Gbolagade becomes the second Shooting Stars player in recent seasons to reach the 100-appearance mark in the NPFL, following in the footsteps of Ghali Falke.
