Barcelona midfielder Fermin Lopez has shut down speculation linking him with a move to Manchester United.
The 23-year-old has been heavily linked to Old Trafford in recent days, with journalist Matteo Moretto reporting that United had made enquiries for Lopez and Atletico Madrid’s Pablo Barrios as potential replacements for Bruno Fernandes.
United’s interest is understood to be genuine, with Barca reportedly valuing him at around £70m-£84m.
But Lopez has made his stance clear after starring in Barcelona’s 6-1 win over Alaves on Saturday, where he scored once and provided two assists.

Speaking to the media after the game, Lopez said as quoted by Mundo Deportivo:”Manchester United links? I don’t pay attention to that kind of news. I want to stay here at Barça as long as possible. I hope to END my football career at this club and retire here.”
He also kissed and pointed to the Barcelona badge while celebrating his goal.
Fabrizio Romano also confirmed that Barcelona consider Lopez “absolutely untouchable”.
Sporting director Deco sees him as crucial for the present and future, and the La Masia graduate only signed a new contract extension until June 2031 in February 2026.
