Brentford’s 16-year-old Nigerian-born forward, Jai Nwosu has been cited as the most promising youngster on Englsnd with a striker’s style that is closest to a lethal hitman’s technique seen in Three Lions’ current captain, Harry Kane.
Sports247 gathered that, with Kane approaching the last chapter of his international career, many pundits are already on the lookout for his most promising successor, and the name on all lips is that of Nwosu.

While the like of Marcus Rasford, Ivan Toney, Ollie Watson, Anthony Gordon and Jude Bellingham have been touted as the ones to battle it out in the hunt for Kane’s immediate successor, the long-term option appears to be Nwosu.
Dramatically, while Nwosu is currently making waves with Brentford’s junior teams and he is already an England youth international, he recalls how he almost gave up football when he was dropped by Chelsea at the age of 14.
However, the lad who likes to relax by playing virtual football games on PlayStation and his computer, thanked his parents for standing by him during his days of adversity and gives a lot of gratitude to the crew at Brentford for helping him get back on track.
After again beginning to believe in himself, Nwosu has not only established his status in The Bees’ youth ranks, he is highly-rated as a star of the future whose natural instinct for goals and physical attributes are drawing comparisons with those of Bsyern Munich’s ‘Hurricane.’
Standing tall at 6 feet 2 inches, Nwosu has the right frame to trouble defenders – the same way Kane does – while adding rare techniques of the new Ballon d’Or winner; like dropping deep, playing to keep possession, good at linking up play and very happy putting pressure on centre-backs.
He also likes using his strength to hold up the ball, create pockets of space in the third half, make mazy decoy runs off the ball and propel himself more than a goals scoring weapon against the opponent, as he is also ready to drop deep in order to create chances for his teammates.
A citation by UK’s SunSport further revealed, “Nwosu has had to overcome rejection during his early footballing journey before finding a club willing to give him the platform to develop.
“Born in 2010, the youngster has already registered five goals and three assists in ten appearances across the Under-18 Premier League and Premier League Cup.
“(Despite his battles with injuries) Brentford have every reason to be excited about a youngster who combines physical power with technical ability and a genuine hunger for goals.
“There is still a long road ahead for Nwosu (bedore he becomes a full senior England international) but, with Kane setting the standard for English strikers, the search for his successor is already well underway.”
Sports247 reports further that one hurdle Nwosu will also have to scale along the way is in making a choice regarding his senior international allegiance – between continuing with England or switching to Nigeria.
