For decades, Steffi Graf has been living the dream in Las Vegas.
Playing tennis in the sun with her husband, fellow sporting legend Andre Agassi, raising their children, son Jaden Gil, 24, and daughter Jaz Elle, 23, in relative anonymity, and running her beloved non-profit, even she sometimes has to pinch herself.
One of her most recent social media posts was captioned: ‘How lovely to dream while you’re awake.’
But that dream was shattered this week when her troubled brother Michael, 55, posted a bizarre series of videos in which he claimed Agassi, 56, hit him.
Apparently filmed from the tunnels under Las Vegas – a former drainage network that is now home to thousands of Sin City’s homeless – the videos show a disheveled Michael Graf against a graffiti-strewn wall, his hair wild and unkempt, rambling often incoherently into the camera.
Many of the posts on his Facebook page are impossible to understand because of audio issues.
But in some, he appears to recount an alleged physical altercation between himself and his famous brother-in-law.
‘I truly believe that Andre enjoyed hitting me as hard as he could,’ he claimed. ‘I truly believe he liked it.’

There is no evidence to support his claims the alleged incident took place. The Daily Mail has contacted Agassi’s representatives for comment. Agassi has not publicly addressed the claims.
The latest developments serve to illustrate how wildly different the Graf siblings’ lives have become.
But at least one biography – albeit one that was unauthorized – points to early warning signs of their father’s alleged beatings, millions of dollars in tax evasion and unrelenting pressure that set them both on their separate paths.
Steffi, 57, and Michael were born two years apart – Steffi is the eldest – and brought up in West Germany.
Their father, Peter, was a car and insurance salesman who also harbored ambitions to be a tennis instructor.
He introduced his daughter to her first racquet when she was just three years old and, spotting a prodigious talent, he began to train her hard. She played her first event at the age of five, going on to become a junior champion then a star on the professional circuit.
She won 22 Grand Slam singles titles and was ranked No 1 for a record 377 weeks, retiring in 1999, age 30.
However, a book published in Germany in 1996 claimed all was not as it seemed on the surface of this sporting fairy tale.
Reiche Steffi, armes Kind (Rich Steffi, Poor Kid), by Klaus Brinkbaeumer, Hans Leyendecker and Hiener Schimmoeller, alleged that Peter Graf was an alcoholic and a philanderer who pushed his daughter relentlessly, then took the credit for her success.
Many of the same claims were made in Sue Heady’s 1995 book ‘Steffi: Public Power, Private Pain,’ which is now out of print.
A review of the German book in UPI News reported: ‘Parents of other children who toured with the Grafs on the junior circuit revealed the lengths a jealous Peter Graf went to push Steffi to the number one slot and to make money off of Steffi, in whom he had invested all his time, his money and his job.
‘Horst Schmitt, a family friend who became the Grafs’s financial adviser and helped set up the web of front companies and subsidiaries used to hide Steffi’s winnings and earnings from sponsorship and advertising, reportedly severed his ties in 1992, sickened by Peter Graf’s brutal treatment of his daughter.
‘Schmitt describes an occasion in 1987 when Peter Graf allegedly kicked Steffi as she kneeled down… to pick up a fork that had fallen off a dinner table.’
Peter strongly denied the incident. Steffi has never addressed any allegations and called Peter a ‘good father’ after his death.

And in his own memoir, ‘Open,’ Agassi refuted claims that Peter had been a ‘diabolical father,’ insisting that Steffi had genuinely chosen the sport.
However, the German biography alleged that other parents, masseurs and sponsors witnessed similar incidents of abuse.
Some claimed Peter would slap his daughter’s face if she didn’t meet his exacting standards.
Another alleged that Peter – who earned the nickname ‘Papa Merciless’ – once appeared in a hotel lobby following a disappointing training session, crowing: ‘She’s had a good smacking.’
The book also investigated Peter’s tax-dodging schemes. He was known to demand appearance fees and endorsement payouts in cash, which he then famously transported in paper bags.
He was eventually found guilty of evading more than $7 million in taxes in 1997 and was sentenced to three years and nine months in prison.
Steffi was exonerated of any active involvement in the crime, but the scandal caused a rift between father and daughter that was only bridged much later.
Fewer accounts of Michael’s childhood exist, but observers agree he was subjected to the same punishing expectations.
A family friend, Gerd Schuler, once spoke about how Peter envisioned a career as a racing driver for his son, but he lacked the talent to make it in the sport.
So, while his sister channeled their father’s pressure into a record-breaking tennis career, Michael grew up in her shadow.
In 2008, Steffi told Tennis Magazine that she had never envisioned living in Las Vegas – the city where Agassi was born and grew up – when her playing career ended.
‘I literally had no idea where I was going to live,’ she said. ‘I just felt that I’ve been able to see so much of the world that I wanted to explore that more.
‘Now living with two kids, and another great thing is my mom lives here, and so does my brother with his four kids. Andre, you know, [was] born and raised here, so we have such a tight-knit family and friend circuit. I feel very blessed.’
Later, in 2014, she described her joy at both her mother Heidi and brother joining her in the Nevada desert.
She told Hello! magazine: ‘My mum moved to Las Vegas, and then my brother and his four kids, so we have all the family there. All the cousins are together and growing up together – it’s pretty neat.’
That joy was to be short lived. Now divorced with four children, Michael is said to be an extreme conspiracy theorist with links to QAnon.
Court documents seen by the Daily Mail show he was recently issued with a bench warrant in Nevada for violating court conditions over a criminal misdemeanor charge of trespass, not amounting to burglary.
He was given a no-contact order and ordered to stay out of trouble before the case was closed, but a check on his requirements in March showed he was arrested by Boulder City Police for DUI in violation of the order.

Boulder City Police Department told the Daily Mail he was arrested on February 12, 2026, after an open alcoholic container was found in his vehicle.
After he failed to appear for a status check on his stay out of trouble violation on March 26, a bench warrant was issued for his arrest and remains active.
It is the latest spate of legal troubles after he was arrested for violent outbursts in Las Vegas in 2020.
At that time, Steffi supported him, buying him a house and reportedly financing his lawyers as well as seeking legal guardianship, according to Swiss news site, Blick.
He reportedly moved out of his house after his second failed marriage earlier this year, starting a nomadic lifestyle in the desert and occasionally living out of his Tesla.
Videos he posted on social media at the time revealed his chaotic lifestyle, with scenes of his tent, as well as shots on a boat with his dog, hiking into the desert or relaxing by the shore.
But it is claimed the camp burned down due to a fire in August, then he crashed his Tesla in September.
Peter Graf died of pancreatic cancer in November 2013, age 75.
At the time, Steffi and Michael paid tribute to their father, saying: ‘We have to thank our father for a very happy childhood and a great sense of family,’ adding: ‘He was a good father as well as a good grandfather.’
