San Francisco 49ers owner Jed York appeared in good spirits on Tuesday as he made his first public appearance since his arrest in a secret prostitution sting.
York was recently handed a six-game ban and $500,000 fine by the league after it was determined that he violated the NFL’s Personal Conduct Policy after being caught trying to pay $140 for sex in an Ohio trailer park back in August.
The 46-year-old had been maintaining a low profile since his arrest but broke cover on Tuesday afternoon while attending the NFL owners’ meeting in New York.
According to the New York Post, York did not speak to reporters upon arriving at the meetings – however, he was seen flashing a smile as he made his way into the venue.
His public appearance came on the first day that York was eligible to resume his duties as 49ers owner following the suspension handed down by the league.
The NFL credited York with three games already served – from his six-game suspension – after the embattled owner stayed away during the investigation.

In a statement released to the media at the start of the month, York, who is worth $500 million, apologized to his family and the team.
‘Today, the NFL concluded its review, and I accept its decision in full,’ he said. ‘To my family, to the players, coaches, and employees of the San Francisco 49ers, to our fans and partners, I am deeply sorry.
‘This was an inexcusable mistake and I take full responsibility. What I did does not reflect my values or the man I strive to be for my family. While I fell short of the model I want to set for my sons, I now hope to show them the importance of owning up to one’s failures, and that even our worst moments teach us to be better.
‘Leading the 49ers is a privilege, and one I don’t take lightly. Your trust will have to be earned back over time, and I look forward to that work ahead.’
There are expectations that York could be back in the stands this week in Atlanta against the Falcons on October 25, having served his full suspension.
Court documents obtained by The Daily Mail in the wake of the August arrest revealed that York ‘arranged to have sexual activity with the female in exchange for $140.’ He responded to an undercover ad placed on a known prostitution website by law enforcement.
When York arrived at the arranged location, believed to be the Wheat Hill Mobile Home Community in East Palestine, York was greeted by a law enforcement sting operation.
He was taken into custody when an agent with the Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force discovered York had ‘in his possession his cellular device which was used to arrange a criminal act,’ the court documents show.

Court records also show that York, who was born 20 miles away from East Palestine in Youngstown, Ohio, was initially charged with engaging in prostitution, but prosecutors amended that to disorderly conduct. He was also charged with possessing criminal tools.
York was sentenced to one day in jail for both offenses to be served concurrently and was credited with one day served when he pleaded no contest Monday morning. He was also fined $1,150.
Records also show that York had a cellphone returned to him and that $140 that was seized was to be given to the Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force as part of the plea agreement. He also completed an online course.
It comes after York filed for divorce from his wife, Danielle, back in May and cited irreconcilable differences.
The York family took control of the San Francisco 49ers organization back in 2000, with Jed first working under his father John in the early 2000s.
He took over the running of day-to-day activities in 2008 when he became CEO, and in 2024 he acquired enough of his mother’s stake to become majority owner.
