Osun FA to Host NFF, CAF D Licence Coaching Course

The Osun State Football Association (FA) has concluded plans to host the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) and Confederation of African Football (CAF) D Licence Coaching Course to improve the knowledge and skills of grassroots coaches in the state.

The course is designed to expose local coaches to modern football coaching methods and prepare them for professional growth in line with national and continental standards.

To ensure quality training, the Osun FA has invited NFF Head of Technical Department, Austin Eguavoen, and Head of Coaching Education, Dr Terry Eguaoje, to lead the technical sessions.

Their presence will give participants the opportunity to learn directly from experienced officials responsible for football technical development and coaching education in Nigeria.

Speaking ahead of the programme, Osun FA Chairman, Mayor Sola Fanawopo, said the course would help coaches improve their knowledge and adopt modern coaching methods.

He explained that the CAF D Licence is an important step for coaches who want to progress to higher CAF coaching licences.

Fanawopo described the programme as a valuable opportunity for grassroots coaches to improve their skills and advance their careers.

The course will begin on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, at Lanreleke Sports Academy in Ile-Ogbo, Osun State.

The academy’s sporting facilities will provide a suitable environment for both classroom lessons and practical training throughout the programme.

A total of 40 registered and screened participants are expected to take part in the course.

The Osun FA has assured participants, instructors and other stakeholders of a well-organised programme, reaffirming its commitment to grassroots football development and coaching education in the state.
