Ndidi started in midfield and played until the 90th minute, when he was replaced by Ümit Akdağ at the PreZero Arena in Sinsheim.

After a goalless first half, Beşiktaş broke the deadlock in the 60th minute through Michael Murillo. The Nigerian midfielder was involved in the move, receiving the ball from Leandro Trossard before Hyeongyu Oh’s touch allowed Murillo to finish from close range.

Hoffenheim responded eight minutes later, with Fisnik Asllani producing a solo effort to level the score at 1-1.

Beşiktaş regained the lead in the 72nd minute when Oh finished a pass from Junior Olaitan, exposing the home side’s defence with a quick attack.

The South Korean forward struck again in the 79th minute, converting İlhan Fakılı’s delivery to put the visitors 3-1 ahead.

Hoffenheim refused to surrender and reduced the deficit in the 87th minute through Koki Machida, who headed home from a Vladimir Coufal corner.

The late goal set up a tense finish, but Beşiktaş held on to claim all three points.

The result gave Beşiktaş their second consecutive victory in the Europa League league phase, following their 4-1 win over Marseille in their opening fixture.

Hoffenheim, meanwhile, suffered a second straight defeat in the competition after losing 2-0 to OFI Crete in their first match.

Ndidi’s involvement in the opening goal and his presence in midfield helped Beşiktaş through a demanding away contest as the club continued its European campaign.
