The Golden State Warriors say they do not know the whereabouts of star center Kristaps Porzingis, according to the San Francisco Standard.
Reports indicate the team isn’t aware of what Porzingis is ‘dealing with health-wise, or when he might be able to return to the court.’
The center was ruled out of the team’s trip to Hawai’i last week – with general manager Mike Dunleavy saying Porzingis would be out indefinitely. He hasn’t been spotted since.
Porzingis has a habit of missing extensive periods of time as he deals with health issues.
The former New York Knicks star went through similar episodes of absence due to ailments with the Atlanta Hawks and the Boston Celtics. He also did this when the Warriors acquired him at last season’s trade deadline.
While it’s not clear what Porzingis is currently dealing with, he went public with a diagnosis of Postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome – or POTS – which is a chronic condition that results in an abnormal increase in heart rate when standing up.

Porzingis has been away from the team for nearly two weeks as he deals with health issues. While it’s not confirmed what he’s dealing with, he was diagnosed with POTS in 2025.

Porzingis signed a two-year, $40 million deal in the offseason which is team-friendly
POTS can lead to multiple symptoms that appear suddenly and in varying severity – including lightheadedness, blurry vision, heart palpitations, weakness and tremors.
Other side effects like fatigue, headaches, brain fog, nausea, exercise intolerance, difficulty concentrating, chest pain and shortness of breath have been reported.
Porzingis has said in the past that he and a team of doctors know how to manage the symptoms, doing so with an increased intake in salt and a forgiving recovery schedule.
Dunleavy says he was informed of Porzingis’ health issue on September 27, meaning the star has been out for at least two weeks – missing multiple practices and four preseason games.
The Warriors – who inked the Latvian center to a two-year, $40 million deal this summer – have expressed support for him.
‘Obviously, we’d rather have KP here and part of it, but he’s got to take care of his health, and again, we’ll support that and keep moving forward with the team,’ head coach Steve Kerr said on October 8.
According to the Standard, Porzingis’ contract only includes $24 million guaranteed. The center also agreed to start in a nonguaranteed phase.
