Steph Curry’s mom, Sonya, married a mystery man this summer five years after her split from former NBA star Dell Curry.
Sonya filed for divorce from Dell, with whom she shares NBA star sons Steph and Seth Curry and daughter Sydel Curry, in 2021 after three decades of marriage.
She shared this week that she has remarried, tying the knot with the ‘most amazing man,’ in a post on Instagram.
The author wed her new husband, whose identity was not revealed, at the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess resort this summer.
She revealed that the ceremony came together in just nine weeks less than a year after she met her new beau.
Sonya shared that she met her husband around a year ago, shortly after her mother passed away unexpectedly.

‘A year ago my mom passed unexpectedly, while simultaneously the most amazing man came into my life! & months late (sic), I was blessed with becoming his wife,’ she wrote.
‘Our union is a testament to the fact that God has seen every tear I’ve cried and answered every prayer that I had regarding the type of man that would be a perfect help mate for me (if God saw that it was in his will for me to remarry)!’
Sonya looked beautiful in a white gown with gold floral print by Pnina Tornai from Kleinfeld Bridal and Iza diamonds.
Last week, Sonya also shared a video on Instagram, entitled, ‘Summer 2026 recap,’ which included footage from her wedding.
Sonya married her former husband Dell in 1988 with the couple going on to welcome their three grown-up children.
Sonya and Dell initially met in college at Virginia Tech, and welcomed Steph in 1988, Seth in 1990, and daughter Sydel in 1994.

They announced their divorce in 2021, saying at the time that ‘after exploring a trial separation over the past year and much thoughtful consideration, we have decided to end our marriage.
‘As this comes with a great deal of sadness, our focus and desire is for our family’s continued happiness,’ the statement continued. ‘We are so thankful for all the many blessings and successes!
‘We stay committed to and supportive of our children and grandchildren and will remain on connected paths. We ask that our privacy be respected and prayer for our family as we move forward.’
Dell played as a guard in the NBA from 1986 thru 2002, spending 10 years on the Charlotte Hornets, with stints on the Utah Jazz, Cleveland Cavaliers, Milwaukee Bucks and Toronto Raptors.
