Euromatch NPFL: Rivers United Goalkeeper Ozoemena Returns To Training After Injury Layoff

Rivers United goalkeeper Ani Ozoemena has returned to full training following a lengthy spell on the sidelines due to injury, Completesports.com reports.

Ozoemena sustained the injury earlier this year, forcing him to miss a significant part of the second half of the 2025/26 season.

The home-based Super Eagles goalkeeper has now completed his rehabilitation, and is closing in on a return to competitive action.

The shot-stopper took part in full training ahead of Rivers United’s trip to Abia Warriors for their Matchday Eight fixture in the Nigeria Premier Football League,NPFL, on Sunday.

Ozoemena was part of Nigeria’s home-based Super Eagles squad for the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN), but he failed to feature in the tournament due to a knee injury.

His return to training will provide a timely boost for Rivers United as they aim to challenge for a second NPFL title.

The Pride of Rivers finished second behind Rangers International last season and will be hoping to go one better in the current campaign under head coach Finidi George.
