Atlanta Braves pitcher Tyler Mahle said exactly what was on the minds of team fans during Wednesday’s season-ending collapse against the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Facing Dodgers third baseman Max Muncy in the second inning of Game 4 of the National League Division Series in Atlanta, Mahle induced what should have been a routine fly ball for shortstop Mauricio Dubón.
Unfortunately for Braves fans, the nonchalant Dubón let Muncy’s pop-up deflect off the side of his glove and onto the grass in shallow left-center field at Truist Park.
The error allowed Dodgers slugger Shohei Ohtani to scamper in from third base to tie the game at 1-1, which proved significant as the Braves went on to lose 4-1.
Mahle did not wait to speak with reporters in the locker room to share his reaction.
‘Are you f***ing kidding me,’ the 32-year-old veteran righty appeared to say as he returned to the mound.

Fans did not fault Mahle for his disgusted reaction.
‘At least someone cares on this team,’ one supporter wrote on X.
‘I heard him say that,’ another followed. ‘Actually it was me. At home. Saying the same thing. At the same time.’
One fan identified the error as the moment the Braves ‘lost the series.’
Braves catcher Sean Murphy also committed a throwing error in the same inning, which allowed Ohtani to reach third ahead of Muncy’s pop-up.
One of only two Honduran-born players to ever reach the major leagues, Dubón is an impending free agent but could still re-sign in Atlanta. Braves minor-league shortstop Tate Southisene did have a productive season across low-A and high-A in 2026, but only recently arrived at Double-A towards the end of the season and is expected to return to the minors in 2027.
The Dodgers will now advance to the National League Championship Series to face the MLB-best Milwaukee Brewers. Game 1 is scheduled for Sunday at American Family Field.
