AC Milan are considering whether to make a move for Joshua Zirkzee in the January transfer window, according to Italian outlet Calciomercato.

The Serie A giants are reportedly weighing up an offer to sign Zirkzee on loan with an option to make the deal permanent at the end of the season.

Milan are believed to be keen on bolstering their striking options, with Goncalo Ramos having only scored once following his summer move.

Ramos, who has scored three goals for Portugal during the international break, joined Milan from Paris Saint-Germain for a club-record €74million (£62.8m).

However, it remains to be seen whether Manchester United would be willing to allow Zirkzee to leave on loan in January.

The 25-year-old reportedly received offers from Juventus, Fiorentina and Everton in the summer but he ended up staying at Old Trafford.

Zirkzee joined United from Italian side Bologna for €42.5m (£35.8m) in July 2024, signing a five-year contract with the club.

He has struggled to impress when given a rare opportunity to shine, however, recording just nine goals and four assists in 79 appearances.

Zirkzee is yet to make a start for United this season and has received just 70 minutes of football across the Premier League, Champions League and Carabao Cup.

Yet he caught the eye for the Netherlands by scoring the winner in their 2-1 win over Serbia in the Nations League on Sunday.

United face fellow strugglers Tottenham on Saturday

Zirkzee will hope to use that goal as a platform to build on when he returns to United for the resumption of the Premier League this weekend.

The Red Devils play host to Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday afternoon, with both sides out of form before the international break.

United have won just two of their seven games in all competitions this season, while Spurs have only tasted victory once – against Charlton Athletic in the League Cup.
