Wild moment furious NFL referee unleashes profanity-laced tirade at Arizona Cardinals star Trey McBride

Arizona Cardinals tight end Trey McBride offered some feedback to one NFL official on Sunday only to get cursed out on national television.

McBride appeared to object to a non-call from line judge Jeff Seeman during the fourth quarter of Arizona’s Week 4 loss to the New York Giants at MetLife Stadium. CBS cameras recorded the exchange on the sideline, which clearly showed Seeman telling McBride ‘f*** you’ multiple times.

Rather than take offense, McBride delighted in realizing that the entire exchange was captured in the CBS broadcast and began pointing to the sideline camera.

CBS sideline reporter Aditi Kinkhabwala witnessed the interaction and was admittedly confused why Seeman reacted the way he did.

‘I was standing right there,’ she wrote on X after the game. ‘What’s wild is that it all started with Trey McBride saying “please” when pleading his case for a PI flag. He was heated for sure, but I never heard a curse from him. The harshest he got was, “You’re ruining the game.”‘

The NFL commissioner’s office is looking into the McBride-Seeman exchange, a league spokesman told The Daily Mail. The NFL Referees Association did not immediately respond to The Daily Mail’s request for comment.

NFL Players Association executive director and former Cleveland Browns offensive lineman JC Tretter shared his disapproval online.

‘This kind of behavior from an official towards a player is unacceptable,’ he wrote on X. ‘Players are consistently held accountable when the roles are reversed. We expect the NFL to hold officials to the same standard.’

Fans, perhaps already predisposed to disliking officials, quickly went on the attack following the incident.

‘We have a zebra issue,’ one fan wrote on X, adding that ‘they have become an invasive species.’

‘Suspend that hall monitor now!’ another added.

John Sigler, a reporter for The Saints Wire, offered some background on Seeman.

‘Jeff Seeman should behave better than this,’ Sigler wrote on X. ‘He’s been working NFL games as a line judge since 2002. His father was Jerry Seeman, who refereed NFL games for 16 years before accepting a promotion to senior director of officiating in the league’s head office.’

Seeman, himself, has been working NFL games since 2002.

Things only got worse for the Cardinals following Seeman’s outburst. Arizona took a five-yard penalty on the ensuing play before ending their penultimate possession by punting back to the Giants, who responded with a field goal to push their lead to 30-24.

Arizona had one more chance, but quarterback Jacoby Brissett was picked off by New York’s Deonte Banks, who returned the interception for a touchdown as time expired.
