New England Patriots star Mack Hollins was hit with two hefty fines for his actions in last week’s game.
The wide receiver was docked $11,941 for taunting and $22,500 for unnecessary roughness by the NFL Sunday, according to Pro Football Talk.
The two fines stem from the same play in the Patriots’ blowout defeat against the Jacksonville Jaguars last Sunday.
During the fourth quarter of the Week 3 matchup, Hollins made a 9-yard reception with 13 minutes to go.
The wideout hauled in the catch 7-yard line to set up a fourth down with a yard to go. After making the reception, Hollins turned to Jaguars safety Eric Murray and made a ‘too small’ gesture.
Officials threw a flag for taunting on Hollins in response to his gesture in Murray’s direction, pushing the Patriots back to the 22-yard line and prompting them to settle for a field goal.

He wasn’t initially penalized for unnecessary roughness. However, after review, officials also deemed Hollins used his helmet on the play and levied an additional fine.
It wasn’t the first time that Hollins has found himself slapped with a fine. Back in January 2025, the league fined him twice for taunting following a game against the Denver Broncos.
Hollins’ latest fines come amid somewhat of a crackdown from the league so far this season.
San Francisco 49ers star Kyle Juszczyk was handed a $14,926 fine for his touchdown celebration in the Niners’ Week 2 game.
After scoring in their 35-13 win over the Dolphins, Juszczyk performed his trademark celebration by tilting his head back and pretending to drink a liquid.
However, the NFL have since handed him a hefty financial penalty for engaging in an ‘offensive demonstration’ while on the field.
‘Your imitation of chugging a beer constituted an offensive demonstration and could reasonably be construed as being in poor taste,’ the league said.
They added that further offenses will result in an escalation of disciplinary action, up to and including suspension.
Juszczyk – who boasts the nickname ‘Juice’ – has already appealed the fine, as per ESPN’s Adam Schefter, and claimed: ‘I don’t even drink beer’.
