Trump makes bizarre claim about Dennis Rodman and women's sports as he brags about getting 'transgender insanity' out of schools

President Donald Trump was joined by two former NBA stars at his latest campaign rally in Durant, Oklahoma – and claimed they are the ‘only two men that we’re going to allow to play in women’s sports.’

Dennis Rodman, the colorful defensive star of the Chicago Bulls dynasty of the 1990s, joined Trump throughout the day in Oklahoma, visiting the Peterbilt Motors factory.

Later in the day, he was joined by former Oklahoma City Thunder center Enes Kanter Freedom at a campaign rally.

Kanter Freedom has been on a crusade in recent weeks against the WNBA’s transgender sports policies, claiming he planned to enter the 2027 WNBA Draft in protest at the lack of protection of women in sports.

That was a hot topic for Trump as he spoke at the rally, bragging about getting ‘transgender insanity’ removed from schools and claiming ‘all men’ are banned from women’s sports – except Rodman and Freedom.

Trump said: ‘We got critical race theory and transgender insanity mutilization out of our schools. We banned all men except for Dennis Rodman and (Enes Kanter) Freedom.

Kanter later took to social media to share a clip of Trump talking about him and claimed he has ‘officially invited’ Trump to his ‘first WNBA game in 2027’ after a ‘great conversation’ with the President.

He also claimed Rodman ‘has agreed to coach me this offseason and get me ready for the WNBA season’, adding: ‘can’t wait to become the greatest female WNBA player of all time. Rules Are Rules!’.

Trump continued to discuss Kanter on stage, saying: ‘Have men playing in women’s sports? I mean, in all fairness, this guy is a monster. He dreams of playing against women.

‘He wants to. In fact, he’s willing to say that he’s a woman in order to play against women. And I don’t think he really believes that, but that’s okay. And we have another star.’

He then moved on to discussing Rodman and joked about how the Bulls legend’s height – he is 6ft 7in – made him feel ‘very small’ when they posed for a photo.

‘Say standing. Where’s Dennis Rodman, the great Dennis Rodman?’ Trump asked.

‘I took pictures with these guys backstage. I didn’t like it. I’m supposed to be a large person. I didn’t feel large at all. I felt very small. Now look at these guys. They’re 7 ft tall. They’re monsters.

‘Dennis is the all-time rebounding king in the history of the NBA. So, Dennis, you’re a little bit older now, but you’re in great shape.

‘Do you think you’d be able to make it in women’s basketball? I don’t know, Dennis. I’m very worried about you. I’m very worried about you. You got to see this guy. He’s crazy. Thank you.’

Rodman jumped in the presidential motorcade in Oklahoma and told Reuters he wanted to speak to Trump about ‘life’.

His appearance comes while Trump is trying to arrange a face-to-face meeting with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, who Rodman has met having visited the communist country numerous times.

‘When I wanted to get to know Kim Jong Un when we’re having a problem — Kim Jong Un and I get along — but the one who knew him best was Dennis Rodman,’ Trump told workers at the factory.
