After what has been a bruising week for Manchester City, there has finally been some positive news at the Etihad Stadium, with Nico O’Reilly’s value revealed to have risen more than any other Premier League player.
O’Reilly may have started only two of City’s first four Premier League matches this season, but his blistering emergence has already established him as England’s regular left-back.
The success that he is enjoying has been underscored by the massive increase in his Estimated Transfer Value (ETV), which has shot up to €81.7 million – rising an incredible €39.8m, higher than any other Premier League player over the course of the last month.
O’Reilly’s rapid growth in numbers
O’Reilly’s trajectory at Man City has been matched by his ETV, which has exploded since the beginning of 2025, when he was worth €14.1m. His value has therefore increased more than €67m in less than two years – a rise of more than five times.
Last season was his breakthrough at City, during which he played 34 Premier League matches, scoring five goals and creating two more. What was most notable about this breakthrough was that it came as a left-back, with O’Reilly having been considered an attacking midfielder previously.
His form saw him win a regular spot for England at the World Cup, and his excellent form has been confirmed by his massive ETV jump.
Who are Manchester City’s most valuable players?
Despite O’Reilly’s huge rise in value, he is still not in the top-five most valuable Manchester City players, underlining the strength in depth of the squad that has been built at the Etihad Stadium.
There are three players with an ETV of over €100m, unsurprisingly led by Erling Haaland. The Norway striker’s valuation of €159m makes him the third most-valuable player in the world, trailing only Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal and Bayern Munich’s Michael Olise.
Record summer recruit Enzo Fernandez is City’s second most valuable player, sitting on €119.5m – some €15m below the price that Maresca’s club paid Chelsea for the Argentina international.
Completing the trio of nine-figure stars is France international Rayan Cherki.
| Rank | Name | ETV | Change |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Erling Haaland | €159.3m | – |
| 2 | Enzo Fernandez | €119.5m | +€36.2m |
| 3 | Rayan Cherki | €103.5m | +€35.1m |
| 4 | Elliot Anderson | €92.9m | +€23.5m |
| 5 | Antoine Semenya | €84.3m | +€32.5m |
| 6 | Nico O’Reilly | €81.7m | +€39.8m |
Elliot Anderson, meanwhile, is worth €92.9m – a rise of €23.5m – and January recruit Antoine Semenyo has jumped to €84.3m, enjoying a stellar rise of €32.5m in the process.
Absent from this group is City’s other big summer midfield recruit, Ayyoub Bouaddi. The former Lille player has, nevertheless, seen his ETV climb to €70.3m – a rise of €16.9m.
While matters for City off the field are certainly problematic, O’Reilly’s rise is emblematic of a team that continues to impress on the park. Now his task is to ensure the noise away from the pitch does not affect his level.
