FootballTransfers runs through the biggest rumours and gossip from 2 October, including fresh updates on Kerim Alajbegovic and Joao Felix.
Chelsea could revive Alajbegovic interest
Chelsea could revive their interest in Kerim Alajbegovic if the forward continues to impress for Juventus, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.
The Blues opened talks with Bayer Leverkusen over a possible €34.9million (£30m) deal for Alajbegovic in the summer transfer window.
However, the 19-year-old winger ended up joining Serie A giants Juventus for the slightly lower figure of €32m (£27.5m) in August.
Alajbegovic has gone on to make an impact in Italy, scoring in the Europa League win over NEC Nijmegen earlier this month.
And now Gazzetta understands Chelsea could be tempted to make a fresh move for Alajbegovic next summer, should he continue his fine form.
Barcelona receive surprise proposal from Felix
Barcelona have been offered the chance to re-sign Joao Felix on a free transfer at the end of the season, according to SPORT.
Super-agent Jorge Mendes has reportedly told the La Liga heavyweights that Felix has his heart set on returning to Camp Nou next summer.
The Portugal international has less than a year left on his contract with Saudi Pro League side Al-Nassr and has no intention of signing a renewal.
Felix spent the 2022-23 season on loan at Barcelona from Atletico Madrid, scoring 10 goals in 44 appearances in all competitions.
The 26-year-old has also caught the eye for Portugal during the international break, netting in the victories over Wales and Norway.
However, Barcelona feel they are already “well covered” in attack following the summer signings of Anthony Gordon and Gabriel Jesus, according to SPORT.
Man Utd face competition for Brobbey
Manchester United have learned Juventus are keen to sign Sunderland striker Brian Brobbey next summer, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.
Brobbey is developing a reputation as one of the most exciting forwards in Europe with both Sunderland and the Netherlands national team.
After helping fire Sunderland to Europa League qualification last season, the 24-year-old scored three goals for his country at the 2026 World Cup.
Such has been the form of Brobbey that United have been loosely linked with the Sunderland No. 9, who also scored a hat-trick against Manchester City earlier this month.
However, Italian newspaper Gazzetta claims Juventus are plotting a move for Brobbey at the end of the season.
Barcelona failed with attempt to sign Gvardiol
Barcelona came up short with an attempt to sign Man City defender Josko Gvardiol in the summer transfer window, according to Mundo Deportivo.
The La Liga champions identified Gvardiol as a top target as they looked to sign a left-footed centre-back before the start of the 2026-27 season.
However, Mundo Deportivo understands the Croatia international had no interest in leaving Man City, with whom he signed a five-year contract in July.
Barcelona then turned their attentions to Inter Milan defender Alessandro Bastoni but he was another player they were unable to extract.
