Liverpool’s Nigerian-born youngster, Rio Chima Ngumoha is thinking big ahead of his club’s clash with Manchester City in the English Premier League, as it comes just a few days after his historic debut for the country’s national team.
Sports247 gathered that Ngumoha is basking in the delight of his epochal emergence as England’s third youngest senior interntional ever and that aura is bound to boost his quest for a starting shirt with Liverpool against the embattled Cityzens.

The Reds clash with City, who are currently top of the EPL table, comes at a point when the former champions are low on morale, after being found guilty of 114 financial default charges, thereby providing an opportunity for heroics from Ngumoha.
The whiz-kid will aim to continue his surging mometum, after thrilling during his senior competitive debut against Czech Republic, when he entered the game in the 71st minute as a substitute for Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka, three months after first entering the squad.
He earlier got his first game for England as a 17-year-old during a build-up interntional friendly heading into the 2026 FIFA World Cup against New Zealand, with the youngster also surprisingly winning the man of the match award despite his few minutes on the pitch.

“By stepping onto the pitch at exactly 18 years and 31 days old, he became the third-youngest lad in a Three Lions’ shirt. He sits behind Jude Bellingham (17 years, 269 days) and Wayne Rooney (17 years, 156 days) as the youngest players to make their senior debut.
“Liverpool are set to host Manchester City after the international break, where Ngumoha will fight for his spot in the side once again. At just 18 years old, he has a very promising future, and this season could prove crucial to his development.”
