A game-worn jersey belonging to basketball legend Michael Jordan from Game 3 of the 1998 NBA Finals has sold at auction for £9.3 million ($12.26 million), breaking the all-time record for a piece of Jordan memorabilia.
According to BBC, The historic jersey, worn during his famous “Last Dance” final championship season with the Chicago Bulls, was sold by entrepreneur Ryan Gough through Pharrell Williams’ digital auction house, Joopiter.
The massive sum comfortably surpasses the previous record for Jordan memorabilia, which was set by his Game 1 jersey from the same 1998 Finals series that fetched $10.1 million (£7.6 million).

Adding to the blockbuster auction, another prized piece of Jordan history, his personal 1997 Ferrari 550 Maranello, was also sold during the event, fetching £2 million ($2.7 million) and quadrupling previous auction benchmarks for that specific car model.
Despite fetching an astronomical figure, the jersey remains behind the absolute record for game-worn sports memorabilia, which is held by baseball legend Babe Ruth’s 1932 “Called Shot” World Series jersey, which sold for $24.1 million (£18.2 million) in 2024.
