Jayden Reed’s girlfriend, Aneisha Cox, has shared an update after he suffered a frightening neck injury on just the second offensive play of the Green Bay Packers’ Week 2 win over the New York Jets.
Reed, 26, lay motionless on the MetLife Stadium turf after he caught a four-yard screen pass from Jordan Love and was hit awkwardly by Demario Davis.
His body instantly went limp as he was hit on the crown of his helmet before he was immobilized by medical personnel and placed onto a spinal board then removed from the field on a cart.
He was rushed to hospital where he stayed overnight for observation and evaluation although it was confirmed he had feeling and movement of his extremities.
His long-term partner Cox, who he has been dating since 2022, watched the horror unfolding live on her TV screen after deciding just two days before the game not to travel to New York to attend.
After receiving a flurry of questions, she took to her TikTok account to share he story from the ordeal and give an update on the wide receiver.

Reed was injured on just the second play of the game against the New York Jets on Sunday
‘Jayden is doing very good,’ she said. ‘It’s 100% a day-by-day type of recovery, BUT, when we say god is real…’.
She added: ‘Everyone wants to be a WAG, everyone wants to be in this type of life, until it comes to these situations. And unfortunately, it’s a matter of when not if.
‘You never think it’s going to be you or your significant other until that call comes through or you’re literally watching that game on TV.’
Cox shared that after seeing her partner go down she started ‘immediately looking at flights, figuring out how I could get there the quickest.’
She eventually drove to nearby Appleton, Wisconsin and ‘got on the next flight available’, flying to New York via a connection in Detroit.
She revealed: ‘It was so cute though, somehow they had recognized me on my second flight from Detroit to New York and they gave me a cute little goodie bag.
‘I finally got to Jayden. But just imagine the chaos. Everyone texting, calling your phone, you’re trying to figure out how to just get to him, make him your only priority at that moment.
‘But that is why we have the resources we have, that’s why we have each other and that’s why we always put God first.’

Reed’s recovery is currently ‘day-to-day’ with any timeline on his return currently unknown
The wide receiver returned to Green Bay on Tuesday, where head coach Matt LaFleur said it is ‘way too early’ to tell if he has a chance to play again this season.
He is still undergoing additional medical tests with no timetable to return having not practiced this week since returning.
After the incident, Reed wrote on X: ‘Doing much better, appreciate all the prayers and support.’
