Man Utd forced into action in race for 'next Jude Bellingham'

Borussia Dortmund have reportedly joined Manchester United in the race to sign Leicester City wonderkid Louis Page next year.

The 18-year-old was heavily linked with an Old Trafford switch on Transfer Deadline Day, but the Red Devils were unable to finalise a deal and the midfielder ultimately remained at Russell Martin’s side.

Page, who won the EFL Apprentice of the Year award last season and has been compared to Real Madrid superstar Jude Bellingham, has made seven appearances for Leicester so far this season, notably registering two assists during their 4-3 win over Stockport County on Friday night.

Widespread reports have confirmed that Man Utd officials are confident they will be able to finally bring Page to the club in 2027, although TEAMtalk now claim that Dortmund are ready to challenge for the teenager’s signature.

The Bundesliga giants have successfully raided English clubs for several prestigious young talents in recent years, including both Bellingham brothers, and Page is their latest transfer target amid his impressive rise to prominence at Leicester.

It’s reported that Dortmund sent scouts to watch Page in action versus Stockport on Friday, while Man Utd officials were also in attendance as they continue their pursuit to sign him.

The Red Devils believe they are in a strong position to finalise a deal for Page, having done significant groundwork over the summer, but Dortmund have a storied history of developing young players and this could prove problematic for Man Utd.

In addition to signing proven Premier League stars over the past few seasons, Man Utd have also looked to strengthen their roster of young players, with the likes of Ayden Heaven, Chido Obi and Diego Leon among their recent signings.

Interest in Page therefore makes complete sense, with the club keen to lure him to Old Trafford before he establishes himself as a household name in English football.

Page is an England U19 international, alongside players such as Max Dowman and Rio Ngumoha, and with a reputation as one of his nation’s most promising youngsters, it’s no surprise that Man Utd want to sign him.
