Donnarumma, Wife Hit, Bound, And Threatened With Knife During Paris Robbery

Manchester City goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma has revealed in Paris court documents that he was punched, bound, and threatened with a knife during a 2023 home invasion.

According to Daily Mail, on July 21, 2023, four men smashed windows into Donnarumma’s luxury flat on Avenue Montaigne in Paris while he and his then-pregnant partner, Alessia Elefante, slept.

Donnarumma woke to a man saying “shhh”, received a face blow from a knuckleduster, and faced knife threats with demands for luxury watches and valuables.

Around £430,000 to €500,000+ in luxury goods and watches were stolen.

The trial in September 2026 faced early disruptions and suspensions after defendants (including alleged cell-phone masterminds Ilyas Kherbouch and Khyan Mamouni) shouted and got expelled from the courtroom.

Donnarumma did not testify in person. Two teenage direct participants received 3- and 4-year sentences previously; other co-accused face ongoing prosecution or died by suicide in custody (2024).

Two of the robbers, who were under the age of 18 when the incident happened, have already been given jail sentences of three and four years respectively at a children’s court.

Another defendant Moktar Diop, 24, admitted to taking part but is not accused of resorting to violence, while a fourth suspect died by suicide in 2024. He had previously admitted to being involved but told investigators he had come under pressure from his accomplices
