Chelsea’s €300m transfer bonanza begins as agreement confirmed

Chelsea are set to begin a historic end to the transfer window worth €300 million, starting with Pedro Neto’s move to Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal.

The winger has agreed terms to leave in a move worth €60m – the same figure the Blues bought him from Wolves in 2024.

Al-Hilal need only agree a transfer fee for Neto to take him to the Pro League, according to Sky Sports transfer expert Sacha Tavolieri, with the floodgates set to open at Stamford Bridge for a string of other deals thereafter.

Neto joined Chelsea after a breakout season with Wolves in which he delivered nine assists in 20 Premier League outings, but while he showed flashes of brilliance for the Blues, he did not produce the numbers expected of him at the highest level.

During the 2025/26 Premier League season, he scored five times and delivered six assists in 34 appearances, 30 of which were starts.

Chelsea have decided to upgrade, though. The Blues spent a record €137m signing Morgan Rogers to fill Neto’s role in an attacking midfield area, leaving the 26-year-old Portugal international surplus to requirements.

Chelsea have sold well this summer, often getting a price for their players significantly above market value, and they are set to do so again with Neto.

The West London side have pinned a €60m valuation on their player – the same fee as they bought him from Wolves – and the expectation is that Al-Hilal will match their valuation of him.

Neto’s Estimated Transfer Value (ETV), however, sits at €51.7m. This suggests that Chelsea are getting a good price for the attacker, although his ETV reached a career-high of €66.5m earlier this year.

He will become Chelsea’s fifth major sale of the summer after Andrey Santos, Marc Cucurella, Trevoh Chalobah and Tyrique George, with his fee forecast to be larger than any of his former team-mates.

More outgoings are expected at Chelsea before the transfer deadline as Xabi Alonso has a huge and unwieldy squad.

Numerous big deals could follow, with the likes of Malo Gusto, Axel Disasi, Benoit Badiashile, Liam Delap, Nicolas Jackson, Marc Guiu and even Enzo Fernandez all being linked with moves away from the Blues.

With these players alone boasting a collective value of more than €240 million, there is still a great deal of work to do for the Blues before their squad is Premier League-ready.

Offloading Neto is therefore an essential start to what promises to be a remarkable August for Chelsea, in which they raise at least €300m from the transfer market.
