Hull City Boss Jakirovic Confirms Interest In Nigerian-Born Midfielder

Hull City head coach Sergej Jakirovic has confirmed the club’s interest in Everton midfielder Tim Iroegbunam, reports Completesports.com.

The Premier League newcomers have been consistently linked with a move for the Nigerian-born defensive midfielder as they look to strengthen their squad.

Jakirovic has now acknowledged Hull City’s interest in Iroegbunam, revealing that the Everton player fits the profile he is looking for as he continues to shape his squad.

“I think there is progress in this player (Iroegbunam),” Jakirovic told BBC Radio Humberside

“I like how he is playing and he is very experienced. I think we need this profile for a midfielder and I hope we will sign him.

“But, we will see. It could be a loan or permanent transfer. There is a lot of exchanging. He is in the last year of his contract which is an advantage for us.”

Iroegbunam joined Everton from Aston Villa in 2024 after previously spending time on loan at Queens Park Rangers.

The 23-year-old provided two assists in 29 league appearances for the Toffees last season.
