Eagles social media team accused of embarrassing Jalen Hurts with viral footage of training-camp interception

If Jalen Hurts was hoping to avoid criticism heading into the 2026 season, the Philadelphia Eagles social media team wasn’t doing him any favors by sharing the embattled quarterback’s latest training-camp interception Wednesday.

The clip, which quickly went viral, showed the 28-year-old Hurts dropping back and finding newly acquired Hollywood Brown across the middle of the field, only for cornerback Quinyon Mitchell to swoop in for the pick.

‘Putting your starting QB on blast when there are already rumblings he [can’t] use the middle of the field is a choice,’ former oddsmaker Todd Fuhrman wrote on X in response to the footage.

The post was clearly intended to highlight Mitchell’s interception, which is why the Eagles’ social media post hinted at his name in the caption: ‘Right on Q.’

Unsurprisingly, Eagles fans had some opinions about the throw and the post.

Many griped about the ill-timed and underthrown pass.

‘The only thing this shows is a HORRIBLE pass and decision by Hurts,’ read one comment. ‘This is picked off 100% of the time and in a game situation Hurts just got the WR destroyed!’

But the vast majority were concerned about the Eagles’ decision to post the clip, which fans saw as undermining to the team’s leader.

‘Damn the off-season rumors are true,’ one fan remarked. ‘They don’t like Hurts in Philly’

‘Even as a Cowboys fan, I have to ask you what’s wrong with you,’ read another comment. ‘Praising your CBs’ performance by roasting your QB? One of the most silly posts by team official accounts.’

A few fans did poke fun at the situation: ‘Eagles flexing that interception like “we can only go up from here.”‘

Although he tossed only six interceptions last season, Hurts finished just 16th in the NFL with 3,224 passing yards while he and receiver AJ Brown struggled to stay on the same page. Brown is now in New England, while Philadelphia has added rookie USC product Makai Lemon and ex-Green Bay Packers wideout Dontayvion Wicks.
